This is turning out to be a really sweet story. The only criticism I would offer up is in this sentence: How the hell was he supposed to fix things when every conversation turned into a row?
Americans don't really use the term "row" to mean fight. And since House is an American, it would seem a tad OOC for him to be thinking in those terms.
